Michelle Isles: Michelle Isles BCom BA (Hons) LLM is Chief Executive of Climate and Health Alliance. Michelle has worked at the nexus of climate action, health and wellbeing in a career spanning 20 years across Asia-Pacific. Michelle has influenced national policy on energy, housing and pollution, and led innovation and strategy to address climate risk and resilience within essential service organisations.
Bianca Lay-Goodchild: Bianca heads the youth climate and health movement at CAHA and is a climate change and public health researcher with a Master of Global Health and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science. She brings with her skills and experience in supporting research partnerships and engaging stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific region. She also works part-time in health economics research with the University of Melbourne School of Population & Global Health, as well as with the University of Sydney School of Public Health. As Research & Partnerships Adviser, Bianca works to facilitate collaborations with research and impact partners and further knowledge and action on climate and health challenges and outcomes. She will speak on why young people need a voice when it comes to climate decision making and how empowerment helps to address feelings of eco-anxiety.
Stephen Thorpe: Stephen is a proud Gunaikurnai, Gunditjmara, and Yorta Yorta entrepreneur and co-founder of Sustainative, which means ‘sustain’ with ‘native’ wisdom. Sustainative embeds the Indigenous Regenerative practices into Corporate ESG frameworks for impactful RAP outcomes. He has 20 years of experience in bringing indigenous culture into client projects for innovative collaborative solutions and is passionate about community engagement and development activities to address health, economic, social, and personal challenges of the First Nations People. From humble beginnings to representing Australia at the World Indigenous Business Forum, and COP30, Stephen’s story stands as a beacon of what’s possible when culture, purpose, and innovation meet. His work speaks not just to economic opportunity, but to a larger truth that by restoring connection to Country, we restore inner balance within ourselves that permeates to our communities.
